I stayed at Dwell for ten days in august to work remotely on EST hours while exploring Sao Miguel during the day. I had a private room with a shared bath on the main floor. For me, the communal atmosphere was exactly what i was looking for - folks working together in the lovely office space (with privacy booths for calls), folks cooking and eating together in the incredibly well stocked kitchen (air fryer, manual juicer, grater, spices, espresso machine), and lovely humans hanging around. Quiet hours were well respected and the place was kept incredibly clean by on site volunteers there most of the day. Charles and Ania, the owners, are lovely and were often around to work, chat, cook and give island advice. There is a schedule of community acitivites over the week with the highlight being the group BBQ on the weekend (if you're lucky with Charles leading a singalong on his guitar). Of course, like all shared spaces, you should expect to share space, to pick up after yourself, to hear other folks in the space (the soundproofing on the rooms is so so). The private meeting booths are helpful but definitely not fully soundproof if you have any sensitive work matters requiring higher privacy. I will note the rooms do no have A/C (there is one in the office space). Typically the ocean breeze keeps things comfortable, but we were there in an unusual heat wave peak summer and found a couple nights hot for sleeping (we bought a fan and solved it). Most of the rooms also have windows to the street, so bringing earplugs is a good idea (it is a small town with infrequent traffic so not a huge deal). The setting itself is gorgeous - on a cliff overlooking the ocean. You need to travel a while to get to swim access (maybe 5-7min by car or 30 min on foot). The village it is in is pretty sparse for amenities for most shopping and restaurants require a drive. Public transit is possible in theory but incredibly inefficient and mostly routes you through ponta delgada - a car rental or scooter rental highly recommended. However, if you're flexible with your schedule lots of folks would likely be willing to let you tag along on their adventures. Overall everything totally worth it for the warm community, instant friends, and delicious leftovers from fellow travellers cooking. A wonderful stay and I already want to plan a return visit!

I had a lovely stay at Dwell!! I was there for a week on vacation and it was the perfect place to come home to at the end of each day of activities. The house itself is in a beautiful spot directly overlooking the ocean. Dwell has a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and staff organized optional activities to do with other guests (beyond daily chatting in the kitchen). It’s a shared living space - imagine roommates, not random hostel guests - and there are clear community guidelines about cleaning up, quiet hours, etc that are well respected. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and also well-equipped. I slept in the loft, which was comfy and cozy. I would definitely come back to remote work or stay for another visit, and I recommend to anyone who wants a community vibe rather than a hotel! My stay at Dwell was more than I could have ever asked for. Before staying here I wasn’t sure what coworking/coliving would be like. Turns out it means that you are joining a welcoming community who will make your stay worth while. The volunteers at the house help plan activities throughout the week which make your stay more memorable. The house is also kept incredibly clean, and there is also fresh towels or sheets if you need it. There is also coffee and breakfast (cereal/oatmeal) available, which I did take advantage of every morning. The location of the house is to die for, with a beautiful view of the north coast from the back patio and balcony. The house itself is about a 15min drive away from the main city of Ponta Delgada (where the airport is). We rented a car and there was plenty of space on the road outside to park. Room Moo can get a little cold at night, but they provide you with a space heater which works very well. There are laundry machines available - which was very helpful as we got very muddy from some of our hikes 😅 (€5 per load). Overall I had an amazing time at Dwell, it is what made my trip to Azores amazing. Can not recommend it enough.

Dies ist der ideale Ort für Menschen, die Gemeinschaft mögen. Fenais da Luz liegt günstig; vom Flughafen ist man schnell mit dem Auto oder dem Taxi dort. Zu Fuß lassen sich kurze und schöne Wanderungen zu diversen natürlichen Badestellen unternehmen, alle anderen Attraktionen der Insel lassen sich in 30-60 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichen. Das Haus selber bietet zwei gemeinschaftlich genutzte Terrassen mit wunderschönem Meerblick. In einer voll ausgestatteten Küche lässt sich individuell oder gemeinsam kochen. Yogamatten, Sonnenschirme oder anderes Zubehör für diverse Hobbys können mit genutzt werden. Die Eigentümer haben hier ein Herzensprojekt gestaltet, es ist eine Freude, sie kennenzulernen. Für mich war es perfekt.

We stayed at Dwell in May having our first coliving experience with my girlfriend and couldn't have chosen a better place! The people running the place were incredible, we made friends with other guests immediately and at least a person who lives in the middle of nature and loves it, the location was perfect. Also the office and working environment was really good and made it easy to focus. The only thing I was missing was my own fishing gear, but Charles let me use his, which was incredibly kind. Oh and if someone is wondering a possibility to visit a gym, there's one in the next village, where people from Dwell (hopefully still) are going often. So yeah, if there's availability, better to book now than being sorry for sold out situation.

This is the place to be. Privacy in your spacious room and social outdoors. A great mix of both worlds. I stayed in Surf and I could easily move one of the beds and made myself a wonderful yoga space. It's clean and comfortable. The view is breath taking and you have wonderful coastal walks, food steps from the house. The biggest plus are the people. They really care about you. They not only want you to have a good time. They genuinely care. Thank you for a lovely stay, I will be back. PS: I recommend to get a car, there is easy and free parking in the street.

The ocean view from the place is super inspiring and refreshing! Lastly, the local "da silva pastelaria" (just a 1 minute walk) is a must-see place for their delicious breakfast and lunch offerings! A beautiful and unique community-focused accommodation with incredible views and kind people. I had the opportunity to be a part of the incomparable Dwell community for 3 weeks this June 2023. Ania and Charlie have created something very special; much more than a place to rest. Dwell's mission is to facilitate connection among long time travellers and digital nomads, and that is exactly what I experienced during my stay. Highlights included community BBQ's where everyone shares their favourite dish and connects over wonderful food... deep conversations on our hopes and dreams with fellow travellers over a glass of Vinho Verde... exploring magical nature on hikes and at hot springs with my new friends... the amazing memories were plentiful!! The coworking space is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities a remote worker might need. You also look up from your computer and are greeted with the most majestic view of the boundless Atlantic ocean!!! The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Ania and Charlie work tirelessly to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and attention to detail... no easy feat in the incredibly humid sea front location of Sao Miguel! Amazing coliving space 🙏 We met great people there, shared nice experiences like coffees in front of the ocean, hotsprings, ocean pools baths, barbecues, drinks ... The coworking space has a direct view on the sea, which is amazing when you are working. We also liked the swing chairs, the large wooden tables on which we could share meals with other nomads, the shared bookcase, the nice and cosy sofas and the comfort of the bedroom. It is a really nice and beautiful place to stay. Anna and Charles are also particularly warm and inspiring hosts 🤗 We feel very lucky to have met them!

Great coliving place in the Azores. I stayed here for 2 weeks working remotely in October. The place is made with love and care, all is good quality from the very well equipped kitchen to the comfortable mattress. Highlights were the workplaces facing the giant window to the ocean, falling asleep to the sound of waves, yoga sessions at the cliffs 5 mins from the doorstep and when Charlie made music for us in the evenings - amazing! Ania and Charles are 5 star hosts, always available, helpful and fun to be around, they create a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to connect to others. Dwell is easy to reach from the airport and a good starting point to explore the island by car. Some things to note: The village is very quiet, if you are looking for a place with a choice of restaurants/bars in walking distance, you would have to stay in Ponta Delgada. You do need a car if you want to move around. There are no dedicated phone/meeting rooms in the workspace and not all rooms have tables. There are both remote workers and tourists staying at the place, which, in the 2 weeks I was there, mixed very nicely. Had a great time here, thanks for everything :)

If you want a great place to stay in Sao Miguel look no further. Ania and Charlie are great hosts who take pride in their accommodation. The place is homely and very nicely decorated. It has a great view of the ocean and great atmosphere. Ania and Charlie have lots of tips and places to visit on the island and there’s usually a very friendly and social bbq each week at the place with lots of food and music.

Words can't describe my experience with this place! The hosts are wonderful, kind, lovely and extremely sweet people. The house is very modern with all equipment needed - very practical, especially for working remotely. Upon all that I got to experience fantastic and breathtaking views everyday and lovely weather. I recommend Dwell Azores to anyone who wants to visit Fenais da Luz just for a holiday but I strongly recommend it also to those, who can and want to work remotely abroad! 10/10.

We loved staying here, such a welcoming and relaxing environment. Is great staying right on the cliffs and how they've renovated the place is excellent, particularly love the communal working space upstairs (with super fast wifi) and the upstairs outside area would be a lovely spot for yoga. Friendly hosts and friendly guests, good location for seeing the island, lot's of helpful tips, one of our favourite trails we did during our trip was recommended by the hosts. Shared kitchen was easy enough to use, we had breakfast (provided) every day, cereal, waffles, juice, fruit etc. and great coffee machine available for use any time! We cooked dinner a couple of times too, all good. Our room was great, excellent size, lovely and clean, we both had the best sleeps of our trip here! Overall would highly recommend for a sociable and great value stay, we were even invited back for a BBQ after we had left which was lovely! Thank you Charles & Ania! Get a dog soon!

My husband and I stayed at Dwell with Charles & Ania for a week. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and had a large window to the patio where we could hear the sea all day and night. The bathroom was a good size and everything was very clean. The kitchen is shared by everyone, and we were given a bin for our food in the fridge. There is an espresso machine for use, and we were given some lovely tea from the local farm as a welcome gift. It was a working holiday for us, and the 2nd floor has a workspace with plenty of plugs, tables, and couches to work from, or we could sit on the terrace with a full view of the crashing waves on the rocks. Internet was good and we were able to have video calls and stream content. Very fair price and a central location for the many hikes and activities on the island. We can't wait to stay with them again.

Welcomed like coming back Home, use of kitchen and the basics, delicious occasional waffles (Chalie's recipe), rooms bright and spacious with comfortable beds and fluffy towels!
