I spent two weeks at EcoIsleta and it was wonderful!! It’s in La Isleta, which is a normal residential neighborhood where mostly locals live. So it's not very touristy, yet only five-minute walk from Las Canteras beach with all the shops, cafés, bars etc. So it’s very convenient. (I'm including a photo of the Las Canteras beach) EcoIsleta is run by Jonatan and his wife Rita. Jonatan’s a true local; his family’s came to the island for over a century ago from the neighboring Fuerteventura, and he actually built the whole place himself, including a lot of the furniture, which kind of amazing ! The place is nicely designed and you feel the personal touch and care Everything in EcoIsleta is nice and clean. The kitchen’s big and well equipped, and there’s a large table good for working or eating together. It looks exactly like in the photos - maybe even nicer in person :) And during low season prices were extremely fair. (If you ever want a separate coworking space, Sopa de Azul nearby, is also very cool and reasonably priced.) Jonatan really cares about the issues of the island and the local community. For example he organizes bi-weekly dinners at EcoIsleta, making it easy to connect with people Before going, I didn’t know much about Gran Canaria, and I was honestly amazed at the variety; dunes, forests, mountains, beaches, old towns and so on.. EcoIsleta is totally recommended! it’s a special, authentic place : )
